　　There was a loud creaking sound and Annie saw a trap door opened under her dad's chair. The chair fell through the hole, with Annie's dad still tied to it.

　　"No one will ever find you!" Jed shouted into the hole. He slammed the trap door shut.

　　The trap door fitted into the floor so well that Annie could hardly see where it was - except for a little keyhole. Jed took an old black key off the table and pushed it into the keyhole. He locked the trap door and then, with another horrible chuckle, he dropped the key into his pocket.
