沉静温和的爱尔兰

爱尔兰的山川风物，整体上有那么几分腼腆，她不直接要求我们像面对埃及金字塔、希腊神殿和尼亚加拉瀑布那样特地发出感叹、表现出激动或沉思。去哪里景色都很美，奇怪的是却难成为风景明信片。爱尔兰的美带给我们的较之激动和惊叹，更接近于医疗或镇静作用。世上有这样一种人（不是很多），开口讲话固然需要一点时间，但是一旦开口，便以沉静温和的口吻讲得妙趣横生——爱尔兰多少与此相似。

“海滩味”绝非无稽之谈。艾莱岛风大，宿命般地刮个不止，浓浓的、夹带着海藻味的强烈海风差不多给岛上所有的东西都带来了深刻的烙印，人们称之为“海藻香”。去艾莱岛住一段时间，你就会知道那种气味是怎么一个东西，而知道了那种气味，你就能——作为实际感受——理解艾莱威士忌何以有那么一种味道。

如果我们的语言是威士忌，当然就不必费此操办了。只要我默默递出酒杯、您接过静静送入喉咙即可，非常简单非常亲密非常准确。然而遗憾的是，我们居住在语言终究是语言、也只能是语言的世界里，我们只能将所有事物置换成另一种不带酒意的东西才能表达出来，我们只能生活在这一局限性之中。不过也有例外——我们的语言有时会在稍纵即逝的幸福瞬间变成威士忌，而我们——至少我——总是梦见那一瞬间：如果我们的语言是威士忌……

Perhaps the most famous tortas in Mexico and certainly one of the most unusual, tortas ahogodas are a must-try for anyone visiting the city of Guadalajara. Vendors first fill rolls called birotes with carnitas and a particular preparation of pickled onions, then dip the sandwich into a fiery, vinegary hot sauce - or as we say, the tortas are bautisadas, or "baptized". Some people order them half dipped (media bautisada) or fully dipped (bautisada completa). Then, vendors take a ladleful of mild tomato sauce from a vat and spoon it on top. It's magical construction: crunchy and soggy, spicy and rich, pickly and mild.

　　膝盖以下都浸在海水里，目不转睛望着脚边的沙子。

　　“找到了！”

　　身边的小孩高声大叫，挖出一个奇怪的贝壳，三角形，看来像蛏。我再度凝神细看沙滩，除了沙子，还是什么也没发现。

　　“你看，在这里！”

　　孩子指着海，仔细一看，白色砂粒上似乎有道淡淡的黑色裂缝，他用手指挖了一会儿，挖出一个三角形的黑色贝壳。

　　就算我明白诀窍，还是很难找到。可孩子们接二连三挖出了贝壳，他们的眼睛到底是什么做的呀？

芬兰森林中的蓝莓

　　不知道是不是身体在抗拒。一吃到速食面，舌尖就又痛又痒，好像有微细的电流通过。

　　来到芬兰后，我每天都在森林里露营。没有比这儿更加理想的睡床了，非但地形起伏不大，树木也经过适度砍伐，到哪都能扎营。地表还能铺着厚厚一层干燥苔藓和杉木落叶，成为软绵的地毯。

　　这样的森林在道路两侧延伸，从北到南共一千五百公里。拜此所赐，我也不用担心住宿问题了。傍晚一到，只要离开道路，骑进森林，就是最高级的旅馆！所有房间都有挑高通风的天井，空调设备超群，厕所更是宽敞，早上还有小鸟啁啾叫你起床呢！

　　黄昏时分，我漫步在小巷里，一阵烤肉香传来，朝那方向一看，有个摊子正冒出白烟，还有好几个男子站在前头，好像在大口吃什么东西。

　　“大概是塔可卷饼吧”Ｉ君说道。

　　我在边境的厄尔巴索遇到Ｉ君，两人便结伴到墨西哥的法列斯市，但他打算当天就回美国。他表情温和，个子高大，看起来像橄榄球选手，嘴里说着要环游美国，当作毕业旅行。

All Swedish children are taught from a tender age to recognize chanterelles, and once you've managed to find a good chanterelles spot in the woods, you kept it a dark secret from everyone except your nearest and dearest. Often you have to look long and hard, but it really is worth all the effort.
