Ever since my daughter Sara was little we've picked elderflowers to make cordial. Here in southern Sweden the flowers are ready around Midsummer, or just before, and it's quick work to pick them. After the flowers have sat in the syrup for a few days you'll have a fragrant, refreshing cordial to enjoy on a hot summer's afternoon.

Elderflower cordial is the perfect base for a delicious welcoming drink for a summer party. Mis the cordial with sparkling white wine and add a few berries to the glass.
